Jack Pine is a small to medium-sized, native evergreen tree averaging (55 – 65 ft) high. Crown small, irregularly rounded or spreading and flattened irregular. Cones are retained for several years, resulting in a coarse appearance. Trunk straight to crooked. The leaves are evergreen, 2 – 3.75 cm long, and two twisted, divergent needles per fascicle, yellow-green in color.
